An equestrienne's travel adventures around the planet, or, a traveller's equestrian adventures around the planet (occasionally on foot, sometimes chasing owls, almost always with The Raven). Just Ride - Anywhere!
Oh Mer, I'm so sorry! I am utter rubbish at selling horses, for exactly that reason - big hole in heart. I hope he went to an endurance home so you can see him at rides!
So hard. It will get easier day by day. I started working on Molly this month. She is an nine year old former brood mare with an attitude. Oh dear.... I am too old for this crap. LOL. I thought of sending her off today for about an hour, until we had a break through.
Adios, Dudley, hope you enjoy the lack of snow in California! I know you wouldn't have sold him if it wasn't to a good home; I hope he does well with his new owner so that the hole in your heart will be replaced by a happy heart.
Dudley went to some endurance riders in California - they used to raise endurance horses... they have a cattle ranch and vineyard... Dudley might be having home-made wine and cheese with his meals now.

word verif: impty
Your heart looks so impty in your artwork.
Your post tells the story so well. That "hole in the heart" feeling is awful. Hope it heals soon!
ReplyDeleteNo more Dudley stories? I'm gonna MISS him!
ReplyDeleteHe's not even my horse! I just rode him. And hugged him. And yelled at him. And chased him. And loved him.
ReplyDelete*sigh*
