Sunday January 1 2017

Hoar frost is one of the biggest delights of winter. Mother Nature creates delicate icy designs with fog and cold and a slight breeze.

On this day, the hoar frost collected on Finneas' mane and under his chin for a nice beardsicle.

It also grew on legs

and tails.

Winter art!

  1. Great photos! I had some on the side of the barn and posted a photo of it on my facebook page the other day. It was very angular and architectural.

  2. Hoar frost is pretty common for us here, but I really like the way you've showcased it in this series of photos. I especially like the first one & the tailhead. Very nice.
