The Owyhee herd just never gets enough of rolling in this soft, fine clay dirt!
Lynn White shared her theory with me that all gray horses are hardwired to get as dirty as possible so that they will blend in with the dark horses in the herd and be less visible to predators. Sounds reasonable...
It would be interesting to know why they do it? Does it make them taste bad to the biting insects ?
